Meet the founder: Charlotte Wong

One day in the winter of 2008, I lost my job in a fashion magazine in America. Frustrated, I stayed the whole evening in book store around the corner of a street. I bought a pile of silly books and I was thinking to read them to kill my muddleheaded time in the following days. At the cashier, I found a tatty dog-eared book lying on the floor. Nobody showed interest in it. I assumed it would be cleared off as rubbish. Nobody wanted it just like nobody wanted me. “All right, I take it”, I said to myself. The name of this book is “FishintheSky”.

Then, I returned back to my hometown of Hong Kong. I travelled to many places in the next two years. I got married and had my kids. But wherever I was going and whatever I was going through, the book had always been by my side. “Fish in the Sky” has always reminded me of sweet and warm dreams specially belonging to a girl. Later, my husband and I opened a clothes Company. In 2010, my husband and I decided to put our business on the internet. Then, the Fishinthesky.com was born.

It seems that the book is being sold at a discount in Amazon now. Its black-letter fate is still the same as I first encountered it. However, it doesn’t affect the fact that I love the name very much. The book still lies in my bag quietly like it is expecting the dream in my heart: “To design more beautiful clothes to make more girls smarter...”
